About this site

ROADAct.info is an independent, nonpartisan plain-English guide to the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act (H.R. 6644, 119th Congress), signed into law July 11, 2026.

How it's written

Every summary on this site is written from the enrolled bill text published by the Government Publishing Office — not from press releases, advocacy material, or news coverage. Each section summary cites its section number so you can check our work against the official text. Where the statute sets deadlines relative to enactment, we calculate calendar dates from the July 11, 2026 signing date and mark them as approximate.

We aim to describe what the law says, not whether it's good policy. Where a provision is genuinely contested, we note the debate without taking a side.

Who runs it

This site is maintained by Rob Thompson, a real estate professional in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Rob also runs shouldimovenow.com, a home-search tool for the Colorado Springs market. This site is a personal project born of reading the bill and finding no readable guide to it.

What this site is not

Nothing here is legal, financial, tax, or investment advice. The ROAD Act is long, and summaries necessarily omit detail; agencies will interpret many provisions through rulemaking that hasn't happened yet. If a provision affects your business or your rights, read the statute itself and consult a qualified professional.
